Who are Recognosco?

Rob’s background is in sales and marketing initially as a salesman/sales manager in the UK telecommunications and digital dictation markets before making the switch to speech recognition in 1993, when he joined Philips Speech Recognition Systems. Prior to setting up Recognosco with his co-founders, Rob held a number of senior management positions with Philips in both the telephony and dictation based product areas of speech recognition.

He has been based in Vienna since 1996 but with global responsibilities and therefore has extensive business experience of operating in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. He now finds it extremely motivating to see the growth of the company based on the hard work and commitment of the whole Recognosco team. Rob is married and the proud father of two daughters who fortunately inherited their mother’s looks and intellect. He has the somewhat dubious pleasure of being a lifelong Evertonian, and also follows rugby and F1.

Mike has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years, initially as a technician, and for the last 10 years in sales, with a constant focus on professional speech recognition. He was Commercial Director for his previous company, G2 Speech, where his responsibilities included heading up the UK Sales Team as well as forging and maintaining strategic partnerships. Mike joined Recognosco in May 2014 as Commercial Director. He is thoroughly enjoying working with our growing number of partners across all sectors, globally. Outside of work Mike enjoys spending time with his young family, sport and travelling.

Gernot started to work in the field of speech recognition in 1995. He had worked in various roles across development and project management before he moved to product management. At Recognosco, Gernot is the product owner and is responsible for the product roadmap in close alignment with our partner community.

Alexander's experience in speech recognition dates back to 1997. With a background in linguistics, he started working in the language modelling department at Philips Speech Recognition Systems and headed the department for eight years before he went into Product Management. Alexander is a co-founder of Recognosco, and heads the Speech Resources group which deals with Topics, SR Packages, as well as Speech Technology.

Wolfgang started to work in the field of speech recognition in 1998, initially leading a development team. He then supported Sales in his role as Technical Pre-Sales Engineer and was assigned as Technical Account Manager for the strategically most important global partners. At Recognosco, Wolfgang is managing Professional Services to support partners to integrate RSDK and to support them in any technical areas. Outside of work, Wolfgang has built his own recording studio and enjoys jamming on his guitar with friends, if family time allows.

Johannes is a co-founder of Recognosco and manages the development group. His team utilises the Agile development process to deliver Recognosco's SDK. Johannes studied Computer Science at the Technical University in Vienna, Austria. He has been active in the field of speech recognition since 1995 and over the years his role has changed from a technical focus to a managing role. In his private life Johannes enjoys travelling abroad and as a keen mountaineer, “The higher the mountains the better”.
